For this Library I multisampled 2 metal chains in different sizes with 3 Neumann Microphones in L-C-R stereo. I tried all sorts of different articulations like rustling, shaking in different densities, dropping them on the floor, picking them up from the floor, hitting other objects with them and so forth. A lot of the samples were also processed with an array of Plug-Ins to create otherworldly textures. Comb Filters were also applied to transform the chain samples into sounds with a more distinct pitch. There are 8 nkis/Instrument available in this Library, each one has a different script supplying you with plenty of controls for tweaking and layering the sounds. Each Instrument uses a long Impulse Response I made with VRoom in the Convolution engine. This can be very CPU intense depending on your computer specs, if it is just switch off the Reverb and use an external one.

Chain Large Accents & Pickups
12 looped chain samples - accents and pickups - selectable with keyswitches - combined with the same samples running in Tone Machine mode

Chainland - Patchpool

*In the Layer Mixer you can layer the Pure Layer with the Tone Machine (Effected) Layer, each section has a Volume knob

*Visible/clickable keyswitches for all 12x2 Groups - keyswitches are located from C0-B0, the sounds begin at C1
*The pure chain layers have two knobs for pitch modulation amount and LFO speed
*The Tone Machine layers has knobs for Sample Speed, LFO-controlled formant shifting (amount and speed) and a EQ section (2 bands) with 4 controls for gain and frequency
*The Modwheel controls the sample start, there is also a visible slider for that
*Interpolation (HQI) switch for all 3 modes for the pure chain samples, as the pure samples are transposed down extremly there will be some aliasing in Standard mode, this is reduced/eliminated when sing the more CPU intense High/Perfect modes
*Pitchwheel is set to +/- 1 octave

FX
*5 controls for Convolution Verb: Dry - Wet - Pre Delay - Size - LowPass and a Bypass switch (just click on the Reverb label)

*Compressor with 2 knobs for Treshold and Output Gain
*Limiter has on/off switch
*5 controls for Convolution Verb: Dry - Wet - Pre Delay - Late Size - LowPass and a Bypass switch

Chain Large Dense & FX

Chainland - Patchpool

* 2 Groups play at the same time - each one has a volume knob in the Layer Mixer
*The Effected Layer runs in Time Machine mode and has a sample speed knob (try extreme settings and speed transitions for expressiveness) - it also has a Color knob for boosting low frequencies, an EQ set to key follow
*Lowpass FIlter with 2 controls for Cutoff and Resonance/Emphasis
*Envelope section with Attack/Release
*The Modwheel sets the sample start point, a visible slider refelcts the sample start point
*Pitchwheel is set to +/- 2 semitones

FX
*5 controls for Convolution Verb: Dry - Wet - Pre Delay - Size - LowPass for Late and a Bypass switch

Chain Large Medium & Combs
2 Groups play at the same time - a pure chain (large) and 5 processed samples treated with Combfilters sampled at different pitches over the range of the instrument - highest note: C6

Chainland - Patchpool

*Each sound has a volume knob in the Layer Mixer
*The Effected Layer has an EQ with 2 controls for Frequency/Gain
*2 controls for Lowpass Filter Cutoff and Resonance/Emphasis
*The Pure Layer has a HQI/Interpolation switch, "Perfect" sounds best with the extreme transpositions in this patch
*The Effected Layer runs in Time Machine 2 mode and has a sample speed knob
*The Modwheel assigned to a visible slider sets the sample start point, try moving the Modwheel while playing different notes/chords
*Envelope section with Attack/Release

FX
*5 controls for Convolution Verb: Dry - Wet - Pre Delay - Late Size - Lowpass and a Bypass switch

Chain Small & Combs
2 Lyers play at the same time - a pure chain (small) and 5 processed samples treated with Combfilters sampled at different pitches over the range of the instrument - highest note: C7

Chainland - Patchpool

*Each sound has a volume knob in the Layer Mixer
*The Pure Layer has a HQI/Interpolation switch, "Perfect" sounds best with the extreme transpositions in this patch
*The Pure Layer has a Compressor with controls for Treshold and Output Gain
*Envelope section with Attack/Release affecting both Groups - min attack time 1 ms max 10 secs, Release time range full
*Lowpass Filter with controls for Cutoff and Resonance/Emphasis
*Modwheel adds vibrato to the Combfilter ssamples
*A slider for sample start assigned to Midi Controller #21 by default
*Pitchwheel is set to +/- 1 octave

FX

*5 controls for Convolution Verb: Dry - Wet - Pre Delay - Late Size - Lowpass and a Bypass switch

Chains Double Shake & FX
This patch uses samples of playing both chains at the same time and processed derivates of those samples, quite a mysterious sounding patch.

Chainland - Patchpool

* 3 Layers play at the same time - each one has a volume knob in the Layer Mixer
*HQI/Interpolation switch with all 3 modes affecting all Layers
